All Breed Rescue & Training (ABRT) will be hosting their annual Romp Event. This event is a
dog-themed carnival-type event that is held every year by ABRT in honor of National
Homeless Animals Day. The event will be held on August 28th starting at 10:30am at the
ABRT facility, 410 E Fillmore St. 80907. The event is free to the public and well-behaved
leashed dogs are welcome. There will be food trucks, vendors, fun training demonstrations
such as agility and tricks, and tons of fun events for participants. There will also be different
competitions and games for both dogs and people as well as over 100 different raffle baskets
that people can buy raffle tickets for and enter to win. The event will be at 410 E. Fillmore
St. 80907 from 10:30am-3:30pm.
All Breed Rescue & Training (ABRT) is a nonprofit dog rescue and training organization based
in Colorado Springs. Since 1994, they have been rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding forever
families for dogs deemed unadoptable and facing euthanasia. Their 98% adoption success rate
proves that positive reinforcement- and relationship-based training works. In 2020, ABRT
rescued 99 dogs. In addition to the rescue, they are a training facility and they offer training to
the dogs rescued and their adopters, but also to the rest of the community.
Romp is only our second event of the year and is one of our largest events. We were unable to
have it last year due to COVID restrictions so we hope to have a good turnout and a great event
this year. The event is free, but raising money through sales of our raffle tickets helps ABRT
continue to fund their mission in rescuing dogs deemed “unadoptable” and finding them
forever homes.
Romp will be August 28th at the ABRT facility, 410 E Fillmore St, starting at 10:30am and
is free to the public. Children and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. You can get your
tickets by visiting our Facebook event page (user: haveanicedog) or going to
