Tuesday, I headed back to Minnesota to celebrate the 4th of July. I did some work from the house, then met up with some old friends and played bags, not corn hole 🙂
On Wednesday…My girlfriend, little sister and I rented a boat and went fishing on Lake Waconia. I spent 3 1/2 hours catching absolutely nothing but a sun burn. Then withing the last 20 minutes, BAM! Caught a 17 in Bass.
Thursday, before leaving to Wisconsin…I swung by the house my Grandma used to live in…and where I spent a great deal of my childhood.
It’s sacrilegious to go to Wisconsin, and not get cheese curds. These were served with marinara sauce, I’m more of a ranch man myself. BTW, who’s got the best cheese curds in the springs?!
Friday, we hung out at the cabin and went out to a local restaurant/bar. Something I miss about being in the Midwest, is nearly every dive bar or mom and pop restaurant has pull tabs (aka cardboard crack). They usually cost a buck or two and you can win up to $100-$500. You could’ve probably guessed by their nickname, they’re REALLY addictive!
Saturday, we drove back to Minnesota and basically sat in the air conditioning. Sunday, we flew back to The Springs & unpacked.
While we were away, my dog Ellie, went up the radio station’s transmitter site on top of Cheyenne Mountain with our station engineer, Bill!
